The Supervised Sedation Professional is part of the staff team that provides abortion, male and female sterilization, and other minor gynecologic procedures at the health center of assignment in accordance with Planned Parenthood of Illinois’ policies, protocols, and procedures in the PPIL Medical Standards and Guidelines. This role involves providing comprehensive pre-anesthetic assessment, administering and monitoring sedation, and providing post-anesthesia care under the direct supervision of a Non-anesthesiologist Sedation Practitioner. The position also includes responsibilities related to sedation medication preparation, controlled substance compliance, patient-centered care, clinical team support, and staff development. The Supervised Sedation Professional must adhere to PPIL core values and medical policies.
