About The Position

Scalia Properties Inc. is seeking an experienced Superintendent for an upcoming project. Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years' relevant experience in construction project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering or other construction-related diploma.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multiple teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills that align with our "Work Smart" value.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent planning and scheduling skills, resource management and problem solving, budget management
  • Knowledge of building codes
  • Proficiency in reading construction drawings and details
  • Proficiency with Procore, MS Excel, Word, Project
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate all construction activities related to ongoing projects
  • Collaborate with the project management team to develop project schedules and participate in work planning
  • Develop and maintain exceptional relationships with numerous subcontractors to ensure construction reliability and quality while ensuring compliance with subcontractor contractual terms
  • Follow construction plans and make suggestions regarding efficiency improvements, cost control, and final design details
  • Analyze plans to identify inconsistencies, poor coordination, etc., and ensure that details required for coordination and construction are incorporated as early and efficiently as possible into plans for condos, commercial spaces, common areas, garages, etc.
  • Ensure schedules are respected until the completion of work (ready for occupancy)
  • Coordinate the delivery and inventory of materials on site
  • Ensure the construction site is clean, organized, and safe
  • Resolve problems that arise due to adverse weather conditions, emergencies, or other issues that may cause delays
  • Organize building inspections as needed and ensure that good practices, standards, and current building codes are respected
  • Ensure transmission of all administrative documents to the project manager, such as various work orders, delivery slips, etc.
