About The Position

Responsible for the maintenance and housekeeping of interiors and exteriors of all properties owned by CenterLight Healthcare. CenterLight Healthcare PACE, a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, serves adults 55+ throughout New York City, Westchester, Nassau, and Western Suffolk Counties. Designed for those with Medicare and/or Medicaid, the program empowers older adults to continue to live independently at home and in their communities. CenterLight’s PACE program is one of the largest nonprofit PACE programs in the country and operates 11 PACE centers and one Alternative Care Setting (ACS) where participants can receive on-site socialization, social and personal care services, therapeutic recreation, meals, and transportation. Our PACE centers also offer medical services, rehabilitation, prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications to thousands of New Yorkers by an interdisciplinary team (IDT) of doctors, nurses, physical therapists, nutritionists, recreational therapists, and other professionals who work together to provide care as unique as the diverse participants enrolled in the plan.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Technical knowledge of building systems
  • Two years’ experience in building maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to obtain technical licenses required by the City of New York within the first twelve months of employment. Including: S-12: Certificate of Fitness for Citywide Sprinkler Systems, S-13: Certificate of Fitness for Citywide Standpipe Systems, and S-95: Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience in supervision of building personnel and services is preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects all heating systems and performs necessary repairs and maintenance to gas and oil systems.
  • Inspects roofs, sewers, drains, and all public areas to determine the necessary maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Inspects all utility rooms to determine repairs needed.
  • Assist the Maintenance Mechanic with day-to-day operation, removal of garbage, cleaning exterior and chute.
  • Assist with completed all repairs found during annual inspections
  • Performs other daily and monthly preventive maintenance.
  • Determines the priority of work orders.
  • Participate in on call rotation and assignments routinely, and as needed.
  • Completes annual evaluation for the Maintenance Mechanics
  • Schedules work orders and plans completes repairs.
  • Maintains supplies inventory and notifies Management Office
  • Performs necessary electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs, as needed.
  • Projects future major and minor repairs and obtains necessary cost estimates.
  • Prepares and submits all necessary administrative reports.
  • All other duties as assigned.
