About The Position

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is a leading mechanical contractor specializing in commercial HVAC and Plumbing systems. Originally formed through Anderson Mechanical Services, Inc. and Inspiration Plumbing Company, VMG brings decades of industry expertise to complex new construction, renovation, design-build, and commercial projects. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to VMG's high standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience supervising commercial construction projects
  • Commercial HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical, or MEP experience strongly preferred
  • Proven experience leading field crews and managing day-to-day jobsite operations
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, manpower planning, and cost control
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction/project management technology
  • OSHA 30 preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day jobsite operations from project startup through closeout
  • Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials to keep projects moving
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, sequencing, and manpower plans
  • Monitor productivity and ensure project milestones and deadlines are met
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, general contractors, and project partners
  • Work closely with Project Managers and other VMG team members to resolve field challenges
  • Promote and enforce VMG and OSHA safety requirements on every jobsite
  • Conduct routine jobsite inspections and proactively address potential hazards
  • Ensure installations meet project plans, specifications, codes, and VMG quality standards
  • Identify field issues early and coordinate solutions to minimize delays and rework
  • Maintain accountability for company tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Complete daily reports, timesheets, job logs, and other required documentation
  • Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements
  • Track job progress, labor, subcontractor work, and project-related costs
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation
  • Support material planning and coordination to ensure crews have what they need to perform efficiently
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to field crews and subcontractors
  • Set clear expectations for safety, productivity, quality, and professionalism
  • Coach team members and provide ongoing performance feedback
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and strong communication across the jobsite
  • Lead by example and help maintain a positive, results-driven work environment
