About The Position

The Superintendent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all field operations for commercial waterproofing and building envelope projects within RAM Construction Services' New Work Division. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards. The Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, managing crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and daily site activities while maintaining strong relationships with clients, general contractors, and project stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses extensive commercial construction experience, strong leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of waterproofing systems, building envelope applications, safety requirements, and construction best practices. Travel to regional job sites may be required based on project needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Superintendent role; experience with a specialty contractor preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of waterproofing, air barriers, expansion joints, sealants, and building envelope systems.
  • Experience managing self-performed construction work and leading field crews.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and enforce safety policies while maintaining a strong safety culture.
  • Proven ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate daily and weekly jobsite activities to meet project and client requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and construction documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and construction management software.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with employees, customers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced construction environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant commercial construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Procore or similar construction management software
  • Ability to access and manage project documents through cloud-based platforms such as SharePoint and OneDrive
  • Experience with project scheduling software
  • Experience utilizing tablets and mobile devices for field reporting, punch lists, safety inspections, daily logs, and timekeeping
  • Ability to review digital drawings, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings in the field
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Acumatica preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic timekeeping and workforce management systems
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new construction technologies and software platforms

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project schedules to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
  • Plan and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities to meet project objectives and productivity goals.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and sequence the work of field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor workforce performance and staffing levels, ensuring adequate labor resources are available to meet project demands.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager regarding project progress, scheduling, manpower needs, budget impacts, and potential issues.
  • Direct and supervise field crews ranging from 10 to 50 employees, fostering a positive, productive, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and training to field personnel while enforcing company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Address field issues, conflicts, and disputes promptly and professionally to minimize project delays and maintain positive job-site relationships.
  • Schedule and oversee daily field operations, including construction methods, workforce allocation, material management, equipment utilization, and production planning.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, contract documents, building codes, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.
  • Conduct regular job-site inspections to verify workmanship quality, safety compliance, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Lead and promote RAM's safety culture by ensuring compliance with all company, customer, and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, inspections, and project logistics to maintain project schedules and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, manpower tracking, safety records, and progress updates.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, consultants, and internal team members.
  • Proactively identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain productivity, quality, and client satisfaction.
