About The Position

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Superintendent with a water/wastewater plants background for the Jacksonville, Florida area. The Superintendent directs and supervises daily jobsite activities of field personnel assigned to water and wastewater treatment plant and line-work construction projects, helping ensure projects are completed safely, to quality standards, and within time and budget.

Requirements

Experience supervising projects in the water or wastewater industry.
Appropriate supervisory experience.
Experience with self-performing cast-in-place concrete, piping, and mechanical equipment work.
Good communication and people skills.
Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Current training as a Competent Person in trenching, scaffolds, rigging, confined space, and fall protection.
Current training in OSHA 10-hour, First Aid and CPR, SWPPP inspection, silica, risk management, and accident training.
History of successfully completing multi-million-dollar projects.

Experience managing craft and self-performing work is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor the project to maintain a safe workplace and administer safety policies.
Ensure quality standards are met or exceeded.
Handle short-term scheduling, including manpower and equipment resources.
Coordinate permits and regulatory inspections.
Control field documents, including daily reports and progress photographs.
Manage material receiving, inventory, storage, and spare parts.
Coordinate subcontractors.
Hire jobsite personnel as required.
Maintain as-built drawings.
Participate in post-construction reviews.
Manage small tools.
Apply knowledge of contract documents.
Maintain jobsite security.
Complete projects within time and budget.
Report quantities accurately and keep time records promptly.
Identify and communicate scope changes to the Project Manager.
Maintain a clean and orderly jobsite.
