About The Position
Wharton-Smith, Inc. has immediate openings in the Jacksonville area for an Operator (Heavy Equipment) and is also seeking qualified crane operators for Central Florida. The Operator operates heavy equipment for construction activities, including foundation excavation, site grading, material placement, and pipe laying. The position requires travel throughout the Northeast Florida area and transportation to job sites. The company offers a competitive salary and field benefits.
Requirements
- Certification as required by OSHA or the equipment manufacturer for specific pieces of equipment.
- Transportation to get to the job site.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma and on-the-job training.
- Experience working in the construction industry.
- Valid driver's license.
- Rigging training.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment, including backhoes, material handlers, excavators, dozers, and loaders.
- Use equipment for foundation excavation, site grading, material placement, and pipe laying.
- Travel throughout the Northeast Florida area to job sites.
