Blythe Development is a licensed general contractor specializing in site work, road construction, and golf course construction in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Founded in 1989, the company has grown to employ over 900 people and is now 100% Employee Owned. Their operations include a wide range of services such as clearing, grading, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, waterline, curb and gutter, sidewalk, concrete paving, retaining walls, culverts, bridges, stone base, and asphalt paving. Blythe Brothers Asphalt Company provides asphalt services for Blythe Development Co. The company prides itself on self-performing 80% of site groundwork, offering greater control than competitors. They are currently seeking additional grading superintendents to join their team across the Carolinas.

Requirements

Experience operating a motor grader and other relevant heavy equipment
10+ years commercial and/or residential grading experience
5+ years supervisory experience
Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry 50+ lbs

Responsibilities

Plan, organize and lead grading crew(s)
Coordinating construction work according to priorities and plans
Producing schedules and monitoring attendance and production of crew and subcontractors
Schedule material quantities and deliveries. Determine trucking needs and schedule
Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met
Use of heavy equipment and supervision of the use of heavy equipment
Monitor costs and ensure project remains within budget
Prepare progress reports for project management
Maintain the necessary documentation including the relative field permissions and licenses
Flexibility with schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes
