About The Position

Axiom Builders is looking for a passionate, relationship-focused, and experienced Superintendent to lead the construction of a multi-family concrete project in the downtown core of Calgary. The ideal Superintendent has experience with concrete structures, managing sub-trades effectively, a track record of safe and on-time projects, and is someone that others follow to your next site.

Requirements

At least five (5)+ years of experience as an assistant or superintendent for a general contractor on high-rise concrete projects.
Excellent record of leading a project from pre-construction to completion.
Ability to build relationships with not only the field staff, but also clients and other external stakeholders.
Ability and proven experience to lead and motivate site crew of various sizes and scopes.
Proven success in influencing a culture of positivity, ownership and reliability on site.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with Project Manager and regularly communicate updates such as field reports, safety inspections, staffing requirements and schedule updates.
Oversee subcontractor performance with regards to safety and scope of work.
Ensure sufficient staffing is provided to achieve safety, schedule and quality objectives.
Identify and advise of design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or difficulties, and other project issues.
Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions and change notices to ensure scopes, terms and conditions are properly executed.
Supervise and direct trades and labourers through regular instruction, communication feedback.
Support the site safety team and head office in ensuring all employees, subcontractors and contractors are adhering to the safety policies.
Work in partnership with operations, pre-construction and estimating to maintain exceptional quality in our projects.
