About The Position

Vantage Builders is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Superintendent to lead field operations on complex commercial construction projects throughout New England. The Superintendent is responsible for overall jobsite leadership, safety, quality control, schedule execution, subcontractor coordination, and client satisfaction from preconstruction through project closeout. This individual serves as the primary field representative of Vantage Builders and plays a critical role in delivering projects safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest standards of quality and professionalism. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong technical construction knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build trust with clients, subcontractors, design teams, and internal project teams. Requirements

  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience supervising commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial interiors, renovations, occupied-space construction, and ground-up construction practices.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple subcontractors and manage fast-paced project schedules.
  • Thorough understanding of construction sequencing, building systems, and field coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL) preferred or required based on project type.
  • Experience with Procore or equivalent construction management software.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project completion.
  • Develop and maintain an organized, efficient, and professional jobsite environment.
  • Coordinate and supervise all subcontractors, vendors, field staff, and site logistics activities.
  • Drive project execution in alignment with contract documents, project schedules, and company standards.
  • Identify and proactively resolve field conflicts, constructability issues, and coordination challenges.
  • Ensure all work is installed in accordance with plans, specifications, applicable codes, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain complete awareness of project scope, schedule milestones, critical path activities, and sequencing requirements.
  • Champion Vantage Builders’ safety-first culture and enforce all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Lead site-specific safety planning and implementation for all phases of construction.
  • Conduct daily safety observations and weekly site safety inspections.
  • Ensure all subcontractors comply with project-specific safety requirements, PPE standards, and site logistics protocols.
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and incident prevention initiatives.
  • Coordinate with third-party safety consultants and participate in all required safety audits and inspections.
  • Immediately address unsafe conditions and stop work when necessary to protect personnel and property.
  • Develop and manage short-term and long-term look-ahead schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Monitor labor productivity, manpower levels, procurement status, and material deliveries to ensure schedule compliance.
  • Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and communicate upcoming work activities clearly and effectively.
  • Identify schedule risks early and implement recovery strategies when required.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports documenting manpower, progress, weather conditions, deliveries, inspections, and field issues.
  • Establish and maintain high-quality standards throughout all phases of construction.
  • Inspect ongoing work to ensure compliance with approved submittals, contract documents, and company expectations.
  • Coordinate mockups, testing, inspections, and commissioning activities as required.
  • Lead punch list management and drive timely project closeout.
  • Ensure all deficiencies are corrected promptly and completely.
  • Serve as the primary field contact for owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, property managers, and tenants.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Participate in owner meetings, OAC meetings, and internal project planning sessions.
  • Communicate project status, schedule impacts, field challenges, and recovery plans clearly and professionally.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Estimators, and Operations leadership to ensure project success.
  • Utilize Procore and other construction management software platforms for documentation, reporting, scheduling, punch lists, inspections, and project communication.
  • Maintain accurate and timely project documentation including daily logs, safety reports, field photos, and inspection records.
  • Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittmits, and coordination documents to ensure field teams have current information.
