About The Position

The Superintendent is responsible for all the field staff on a project and will make sure that projects are built according to plans and specifications. They will supervise work of carpenters, laborers and subcontractors. They are responsible, along with Project Managers for having the material, tools/equipment, information and staff requirements on the jobsite in the proper place in a timely fashion. The Superintendent handles all correspondence and forms required by the rand office—e.g., daily reports, time sheets, safety reports, accident reports. The ideal candidate will be a visible, integral team member in our Charlotte market.

Requirements

  • 8 years experience as lead superintendent on commercial interior, retail, building renovation projects
  • Expertise with managing projects up to $10M
  • Experience directing subcontractors and scheduling all work according to the requirements of the project schedule
  • Proven track record of independent judgment and decision-making when faced with matters of confidential or non-routine nature
  • Display exemplary performance in all project safety related categories

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma and two years of college preferred; or equivalent years of experience required

Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects are built according to plans and specifications.
  • Manage material, tools/equipment, information and staff requirements on the jobsite.
  • Handle all correspondence and forms required by the rand office, including daily reports, time sheets, safety reports, and accident reports.
  • Interface with the client and client's leadership team on schedule, updates, and challenges.
  • Effectively communicate plans and alternative solutions to the client.
  • Periodically audit jobsites during site walks to ensure standards are being met.
  • Assist teams with complex and specialty quality control issues.
  • Assist teams with pre-punch walks to identify quality trends and ensure smooth/timely punch list process.
  • Act as point of contact to client.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
