About The Position

Join a federal construction contractor supporting the renovation of an occupied military medical facility in Virginia Beach, VA. This unique Triple Hat position combines the responsibilities of Superintendent, Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO), and Quality Control (QC) Manager, providing complete oversight of field operations, EM 385 safety compliance, and quality management throughout the project. This role is ideal for an experienced federal construction professional who can successfully manage construction operations, maintain strict EM 385-1-1 compliance, oversee NAVFAC quality requirements, and coordinate work within an occupied facility while partnering directly with Government representatives.

Requirements

  • EM 385-1-1 Certification / Training
  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification
  • Current Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors Certification
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining military base access (DBIDS)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the onsite Superintendent, SSHO, and QC Manager throughout the project
  • Manage all daily construction operations and subcontractor activities
  • Provide field leadership while coordinating multiple construction trades
  • Implement and enforce EM 385-1-1 safety requirements
  • Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, field observations, and risk assessments
  • Develop, review, and manage Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
  • Lead daily safety meetings and coordinate pre-task planning
  • Oversee all NAVFAC quality control requirements and documentation
  • Perform preparatory meetings, initial inspections, follow-up inspections, and testing coordination
  • Maintain QC documentation, inspection reports, and contract compliance records
  • Coordinate interior demolition, framing, drywall, ceiling replacement, flooring, painting, HVAC, electrical, and fire protection modifications
  • Coordinate work within an occupied medical facility while minimizing disruption to facility operations
  • Partner directly with Government representatives regarding project execution, safety, quality, and schedule
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain daily reports, project documentation, safety records, QC documentation, and compliance reporting
  • Ensure project activities comply with contract requirements, project specifications, and federal standards
