About The Position
The Mountain Views Supervisory Union invites applications from dynamic, experienced, and visionary leaders for the position of Superintendent of Schools beginning July 1, 2027. The Supervisory Union is governed by a 19-member board, composed of representatives from the towns of Barnard, Bridgewater, Killington, Plymouth, Pomfret, Reading, Woodstock, and Pittsfield. Pittsfield has its own board that meets jointly with the MVSU board. MVSU operates on a $32.5 million budget, serving five town-based elementary schools and one regional middle and high school located in Woodstock. The eight towns are each reflective of classic, close-knit New England villages. Historically, our townspeople have shown strong support for their schools and public education in general. Nestled in the heart of Central Vermont’s picturesque Green Mountains, Mountain Views Supervisory Union brings together students from Barnard, Bridgewater, Killington, Pittsfield, Plymouth, Pomfret, Reading, Woodstock, and neighboring school choice communities. Requirements
- Vermont superintendent license, or eligibility for licensure by start date
- Advanced degree in educational leadership, administration, or related field
- Successful, relevant leadership experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of education law, curriculum, instruction, and school finance
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
