About The Position

This role is for a Superintendent in Mission Critical Construction, based in Sullivan, Indiana. The ideal candidate is a safety-conscious, quality-driven leader who prefers to manage the construction process from the field. The position requires experience leading ground-up data center projects of 100,000 sq ft and above, managing both construction and administrative activities of field operations. The goal is to bring projects to completion on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of construction experience as a superintendent on data center projects of a minimum of 100k sq ft.
  • Willingness to work at a site located in Sullivan, Indiana.
  • Proficiency in using Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs.
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing/walking for long periods, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Attend post-award review meetings for project preplanning.
  • Participate in preparing construction schedules, organization structure, staff selection, and manpower/equipment requirements.
  • Direct and control construction projects to meet specifications, stay within schedule, and ensure profitability.
  • Assist the project manager/engineer with material shipment, equipment, and shop drawing/sample approvals.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities for effective integration with project schedules.
  • Inform supervisors and subcontractors of construction schedule changes.
  • Assist in preparing job progress and cost reports.
  • Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other reports.
  • Cooperate with the owner and representatives, providing updates on construction progress.
  • Cooperate with architects or owner representatives.
  • Hold job site meetings with the project manager and regional manager.
  • Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential issues affecting costs or schedules.
  • Maintain a daily diary of significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, owner contacts, commitments, agreements, and approvals.
  • Direct adherence to the company's safety program.
  • Make decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Organize people, tools, and equipment; plan and manage multiple activities.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, facing challenges, directing others, and addressing conflict.
  • Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating processes, making changes, using customer input, and meeting/exceeding expectations.
  • Act with integrity, supporting the company, its values, and employees while focusing on customer requirements.
