The Operations Superintendent for SENY Transmission will oversee auxiliary and operational groups tending to the local operations of the various underground transmission and substation facilities, as well as the Regional Control Room for NYPA’s Southeast New York (SENY) asset base. The Superintendent will be responsible for instilling a zero-harm culture, collaborating with EH&S to develop human performance initiatives, and working with corresponding section leads to develop region-specific operational governance for coordinated safe and reliable operations SENY’s Transmission system. The Superintendent will maintain a broad outlook, handle projections, and manage resource and budgets related to T2035 workstream initiatives. Some initiatives include the development of a regional Control Room for local operations that interfaces with NYPA’s Energy Control Center. The Superintendent will be responsible for working with corresponding section leads to develop agreements related to third-party partnerships with Collective Bargaining Units and/or contractors. The Superintendent will have overarching responsibilities to develop region-specific headcount, onboarding protocols, team- talent development, and training programs. The Superintendent will lead operational responsibilities related to SENY Transmission’s current and future asset base by working with the NYPA Energy Control Center, maintenance groups, and peer transmission owner/operator counterparts to ensure operational actions and directives align with worker protection protocols consistent with, but not limited to, NYPA’s Electrical Safety Procedures, NERC, NPCC, and OSHA protocols. The Operations Superintendent will assist in keeping to the organizational Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets around misoperations, accidents, injuries, and O&M and Capital budgets.
