About The Position

Under the general direction of the Project Manager, the Superintendent will assist in the supervision, coordination and scheduling of HVAC maintenance activities and Union Craft Labor in compliance with the contract and the job cost estimate. They will ensure all work is completed safely to acceptable standards of quality and workmanship. This role involves maintaining excellent relationships with clients, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and the public, and ensuring all work is conducted safely and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The Superintendent will also assist in developing and monitoring project schedules, ensuring subcontractor compliance, and creating detailed look-ahead schedules. They will plan, supervise, and approve the work of own forces and subcontractors, determining construction methods, manpower levels, materials, tools, equipment, rentals, and work schedules. The role assumes responsibility for the productivity of trades and subcontractors, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance. Ensuring trades personnel complete necessary training in safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation, and owner-specified requirements is crucial. The Superintendent will ensure the project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, Field Work Packages (FWPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and the project schedule and budget. They will interface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, and other contractors, and maintain appropriate field documentation including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E and rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests, and FWP documents. Participation in basic layout, preparation of work instructions, and field engineering activities is also expected, along with maintaining lines and levels and verifying as-built conditions.

Requirements

  • Education to include a technical college diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years construction and subcontractor supervision experience in the nuclear industry
  • Ability to successfully supervise a construction project
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as; technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements
  • Good communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to read and understand CGC Cost Reports
  • Basic presentation skills
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior HVAC and Duct installation/Supervisory experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain excellent relationships with client, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and public

  • Utilize project master schedule to help create detailed look ahead schedules with subcontractors

  • Plan, supervise and approve the work of own forces and subcontractors on the project including determining methods of construction, manpower levels, materials, tools & equipment, rentals and work schedules

  • Ensure the work is carried out in accordance with QA Programs and project quality guidelines
  • Maintain appropriate field documentation including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E and rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests, FWP documents, etc.
  • Participate in basic layout, preparation of work instructions, field engineering activities, etc.
  • Maintain lines and levels – verify as built conditions
