About The Position

Feyen Zylstra is seeking a Superintendent for their Charlotte, NC office. This role serves as a leadership liaison between field staff and the Operations team, ensuring successful project execution. The Superintendent will be responsible for employee coaching and performance management, upholding safety principles, managing costs, meeting schedules, and ensuring a quality end-product. The ideal candidate is a project leader with a proven track record in managing large projects, a coach who develops and mentors field crews, a problem solver skilled in prioritization and risk assessment, process-oriented with an understanding of risk mitigation, a scorekeeper focused on measuring progress and results, and a relationship builder who fosters positive interactions with all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ Years of experience required in managing large commercial or industrial projects and leading work crews
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Medium voltage electrical experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of Bluebeam, Accubid, and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel regionally to project sites as needed.
  • Thorough understanding of policies, methods, and procedures that includes advanced Planning and scheduling techniques, Risk Analysis, Risk Management, and support of project objectives.
  • Proficiency with MS Project and other MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of building construction methods, permit requirements, safety procedures.
  • Strong communication skills – both oral and written.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Candidates are required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with GCs, subcontractors, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Be visible and accessible on job sites.
  • Influence others and resolve conflict.
  • Treat others with respect, appreciate differences, collaborate, and communicate to prevent problems.
