About The Position

Feyen Zylstra is seeking a Superintendent for their Charlotte, NC office. This role is responsible for providing a leadership liaison between the field staff and the Operations team to ensure the successful execution of the project through employee coaching and performance management. The Superintendent will also ensure that the field adheres to safety principles, manages cost, meets the schedule, and provides a quality end-product. The ideal candidate is a Project Leader with a proven track record of managing multiple large projects, a Coach who trains, develops, and mentors employees, a Problem Solver skilled in prioritization and delegation, Process Oriented with an understanding of risk mitigation, a Scorekeeper who measures progress and results, and a Relationship Builder who influences others and resolves conflict.

Requirements

  • 5+ Years of experience required in managing large commercial or industrial projects and leading work crews
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Medium voltage electrical experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of Bluebeam, Accubid, and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel regionally to project sites as needed.
  • Thorough understanding of policies, methods, and procedures that includes advanced Planning and scheduling techniques, Risk Analysis, Risk Management, and support of project objectives.
  • Proficiency with MS Project and other MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of building construction methods, permit requirements, safety procedures.
  • Strong communication skills – both oral and written.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Candidates are required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

  • Build relationships with GCs, subcontractors, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Be visible and accessible on job sites.
  • Confidently influence others and resolve conflict.
  • Treat others with respect, appreciate differences, collaborate, and communicate to prevent problems.
