About The Position

P-1 AI is building Archie, an AI engineer agent for the physical world, and aims to build engineering ASI. The Super SWE will help develop the company’s internal AI factory, advancing AI-assisted software engineering and creating the systems, infrastructure, and workflows that let AI agents handle increasingly complex engineering tasks. The role also includes building core product features for Archie and the platform on which it is built and shipped to customers. This is an end-to-end product engineering role that may span architecture, backend, frontend, infrastructure, deployment, and reliability. The engineer will work with forward deployed engineers, AI researchers, other software engineers, and founders to rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on new product concepts; ship continuously; respond to customer feedback; and refine the product through rapid iteration. The position is remote in the US or Canada, or based in San Mateo, California. Remote employees work on-site at the San Mateo office one week out of every six; relocation support is available.

Requirements

Able to work across architecture, infrastructure, backend, frontend, and related areas of software engineering.
Regularly experiments with coding agents, automation tools, and AI development workflows.
Takes deep pride in the product they deliver.
Interested in building autonomous software engineering systems, not only using AI to write code faster.
Demonstrated talent through public products, open-source work, personal projects, technical writing, or other created artifacts.
Thrives in fast-moving environments with high ownership, ambiguity, and an emphasis on shipping quickly.

Responsibilities

Build the core product platform on which Archie is built and shipped to customers.
Own end-to-end product features spanning architecture, backend, frontend, and reliability as needed.
Develop infrastructure, tooling, and workflows to orchestrate AI agents and automate engineering tasks.
Create systems and processes that continuously improve software development speed and quality.
Collaborate with forward deployed engineers, AI researchers, fellow software engineers, and founders to prototype, test, and iterate on new product concepts.
Ship continuously, respond to customer feedback, and refine the product through rapid iteration.
