Sunday School Teacher (School Age Classroom)
About The Position
East Gate Church is hiring a part-time Sunday School Teacher for the School Age Classroom. This role supports families by providing consistent, Christ-centered teaching on Sunday mornings, helping children engage Scripture in a way they can understand and apply. The mission of Kid Connect, the children's ministry of East Gate Church, is to partner with families in raising a generation that knows and loves Jesus. We provide a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where children can grow spiritually, emotionally, and socially through engaging Bible lessons, prayer, age-appropriate activities, and meaningful relationships.
Requirements
- Experience working with children and creating interactive lesson plans
- CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
- Dependable, patient, and trustworthy
- Supports East Gate Church’s mission
Responsibilities
- Prepare and lead interactive Bible lessons for school-age children
- Facilitate prayer, discussion, and age-appropriate activities
- Maintain a safe, orderly classroom; follow check-in/out and allergy notes
- Communicate concerns to Kid Connect leadership and, when needed, request parent contact
- Reset and sanitize the room after class
- Open the School Age room, straighten the space, lay out activities and snacks, and pray over the kids and their families
- Greet parents, note allergies or special instructions, and help children settle
- Confirm each child is released to the right adult at pick-up
- Share a highlight from the morning with parents at pick-up
- Sanitize and reset the classroom for next week
