Summer Virtual High School Counselor
About The Position
This is a temporary, non-continuing position for a Summer Virtual High School Counselor. The role involves registering students for summer school, communicating with district counselors about student needs, assessing and entering data on student credit completion, and assisting with daily supervision and attendance monitoring. The position is virtual and based at Marysville Getchell High School. Employment is dependent on student enrollment and runs from June 15, 2026, to July 21, 2026, with a maximum of 150 paid hours. Classes will operate Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Requirements
- Valid Washington State Teacher certificate with appropriate endorsement for position required.
- Must complete all district required training.
Nice To Haves
- High school credit advising experience preferred.
- Experience with the use of Skyward, Google Docs and Google Email.
- Previous experience working with students of diversity, cultural differences and differentiated learning needs preferred.
Responsibilities
- Register students prior to the beginning of the summer school sessions.
- Communicate with district counselors regarding the registration process and appropriate courses for students needing credit recovery.
- Assess and enter data on student summer school credit completion (tracking student progress, schedules, graduation requirements).
- Assist with daily supervision and attendance monitoring of student progress during daily sessions.
- Other duties as regularly assigned to a counseling position or as assigned by administration.
