About The Position

The Summer Vice President role is a 10-week Boston-based opportunity. The BCDI Summer VP position provides a unique opportunity to join a small and passionate investment team and play an active role in all elements of the business. This role includes partnering with experienced private equity investment professionals to drive both financial and impact value throughout our investment processes and ownership periods. Highly successful Summer VPs have demonstrated the ability to execute fundamental strategic analysis, apply sound business judgment, interact as peers with senior executives, and manage complex, fast-moving processes. These individuals are typically self-starters, feel a strong sense of ownership of their work, and have excellent team and interpersonal skills.
In addition, Summer VPs will benefit from a training program during their first week, which is designed to introduce Bain Capital's value-added investment approach. Summer VPs will learn how to evaluate investment opportunities through the application of fundamental strategic analysis. Summer VPs may also be exposed to a variety of portfolio company issues (e.g. potential add-on investments, improving core operations, etc.) and will gain unique operating experience. Bain Capital professionals are exposed to a broad set of situations and companies and systematically develop skills as a value-added investor -- not just a financial engineer.

Requirements

• Exceptional business analytic and quantitative skills
• 2+ years of work experience in management consulting and/or investment management
• Excellent professional and academic track record
• Ability to operate with limited supervision
• Highly analytical and strategic thinker
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Dedicated team player with a strong sense of ownership
• Strong academic record from top undergraduate school
• Currently enrolled in MBA degree program
