The NorWest Community Food Centre offers meal, gardening and advocacy programs that improve access to healthy food in a way that maintains dignity and builds community. The Urban Farm Assistant will be responsible for supporting and delivering gardening programs and supporting the Community Food Centre’s summer activities. The assistant will report directly to our Farm Inclusion Programmer and work alongside community member volunteers to weed, plant, and water the Urban Farm and Garden. Other tasks may include supporting activities in Gilbert Park, organizing workshops, community outreach and promotion, and additional garden, yard and building maintenance as required. We are seeking candidates who enjoy working on multiple activities and goals, are well-organized, enjoy working with all ages and are passionate about food security and food justice issues. Applicants must be students aged 15-29 years old.
