About The Position
Join AoPS Academy as a Summer Science Teaching Assistant! This role involves supporting instructors with curriculum, working one-on-one with students, maintaining classroom organization for up to 16 students, assisting with grading, and fostering an environment of critical thinking and academic curiosity. The position is ideal for individuals aged 16 and older with strong science skills and a passion for helping students learn.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years old or older
- Possess strong Science skills with the ability to help students navigate advanced concepts
- Exceptional written and spoken communication
- Positive and encouraging attitude that helps students feel comfortable asking questions
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Legally authorized to work in the US
Nice To Haves
- Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist instructors with company-created curriculum and materials, helping advanced students grasp complex concepts.
- Work one-on-one with students during class activities and provide additional help when needed.
- Help maintain an organized learning environment and assist in managing up to 16 students.
- Assist with grading and providing constructive feedback on student work.
- Connect with students and staff members to encourage their learning journey and academic growth.
- Help create an environment that promotes critical thinking and academic curiosity.
