Summer Teaching Assistant - Language Arts
About The Position
Join Our AoPS Academy as a Language Arts Teaching Assistant! Are you enthusiastic about supporting student learning and helping create an engaging, collaborative classroom environment? We have the perfect opportunity for you! The Teaching Assistant will support instruction by assisting instructors with company-created curriculum and materials, helping advanced students grasp complex concepts. They will also work one-on-one with students during class activities and provide additional help when needed. The role involves helping maintain an organized learning environment and assisting in managing up to 16 students. Additionally, the Teaching Assistant will support assignments by assisting with grading and providing constructive feedback on student work. Building relationships with students and staff members to encourage their learning journey and academic growth is key, as is helping to foster an environment that promotes critical thinking and academic curiosity.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years old or older
- Possess strong Language Arts skills with the ability to help students navigate advanced concepts
- Exceptional written and spoken communication
- Positive and encouraging attitude that helps students feel comfortable asking questions
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
Nice To Haves
- Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is a plus
