About The Position

The Summer Success Coach in University College will contribute to student success and retention through one-on-one personal coaching and provide outreach efforts to navigate the registration and enrollment process. Success Coaches are trained by University College to address academic barriers, understand the enrollment process and connect students to appropriate campus resources and services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and professional demeanor. The skills or experiences that are desired for the student in this role include: strong interpersonal skills; compassion for students who struggle and comfort working with individuals with different backgrounds and identities.

Requirements

Applicants must have an overall GPA of at least 2.5 and at least 24 hours earned at Illinois State University
Must be available to work approximately 10-15 hours per week
Must have a strong understanding of campus resources and services
Applicants must be in good standing with Illinois State University as it relates to student conduct
Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

Help students navigate their summer coursework and fall enrollment.
Proactive outreach via phone and email to Illinois State students.
Meet 1:1 with students to discuss Summer course progress and assist with time management.
Connect students to Illinois State support services.
Maintain accurate appointment notes and privacy of student information.
