About The Position

Baylor University's Curriculum & Instruction Department is seeking a Summer Student Worker to provide reception and office support. This role is ideal for Federal Work-Study approved students who can assist with administrative and operational tasks. The student worker will be the first point of contact for visitors, manage office duties, and support departmental events and faculty needs.

Requirements

  • Must be a Federal Work-Study approved student worker.
  • Ability to perform administrative and operational support.
  • Familiarity with Canva for creating announcements.
  • Willingness to run campus errands.
  • Ability to deliver mail and transport materials, potentially using a dolly.
  • Skills in scanning and laminating.
  • Ability to assist in preparing classroom materials.
  • Willingness to support departmental events.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Canva.
  • Experience with office equipment like copiers, scanners, and laminators.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for greeting visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the receptionist for the department office suite.
  • Greet visitors, notify faculty of guest arrivals, and direct visitors to offices.
  • Make copies and create announcements for the department TV screen using Canva.
  • Run occasional campus errands for faculty and staff.
  • Deliver mail to the Bill Daniel Student Center and transport copying/testing materials to and from the Central Duplicating Office.
  • Assist faculty, staff, and Graduate TORs as needed.
  • Perform office preparation tasks such as scanning and laminating.
  • Assist faculty in preparing classroom materials (e.g., cutting out manipulatives) for classes or summer camps.
  • Provide event support for departmental summer programs, including Math Teacher Academy and MELA Camp.
