About The Position

As a Summer Student, e-Learning Content Creator, you will gain practical experience in digital learning and instructional content creation while working with the Education team. You will help develop e‑learning resources that make Council systems and processes easier for external clients to understand and use. Your work will focus on creating engaging learning content—such as short videos, screen captures, graphics, images, and step‑by‑step guides—and supporting the ongoing improvement of existing e‑learning materials. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new e‑learning products and build hands-on skills in visual and digital learning design.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a post‑secondary program related to Education or Instructional Design, Communications, Graphic Design, or Digital Media / Video Production
  • Interested in e-learning, visual communication, and learning design
  • Comfortable turning detailed or technical information into clear, user‑friendly visuals
  • Organized and comfortable managing digital files and content libraries
  • Curious, self‑directed, and interested in learning through doing
  • Comfortable working independently and applying guidance to create engaging digital learning content
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and conscientious

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with screen recording, video editing, image editing, graphic design, eLearning tools or platforms (such as Rise)

Responsibilities

  • Creating visual e-learning and digital learning content that explains systems and processes
  • Producing digital learning assets such as screen recordings, short instructional videos, annotated images, and step‑by‑step guides
  • Editing and refining content (e.g., trimming recordings, adding captions or visual callouts)
  • Organizing and maintaining libraries of images, graphics, videos, and screen captures
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure content is accurate, clear, and learner‑friendly
  • Updating resources when systems or processes change
  • Supporting additional educational or e-learning content as time allows
