About The Position

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Summer Student – Demand Planning. In this role, you will support the Demand Planning team by assisting with data-intensive, repetitive, and administrative tasks. This position is designed to improve efficiency in standard reporting and data consolidation, while providing you with hands-on exposure to demand planning and supply chain operations within a global organization.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field).
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas (e.g., XLOOKUP, SUMIFS), pivot tables, data filtering, and basic data analysis.
• Comfort working with large datasets and repetitive data-oriented tasks.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow standardized processes.
• Ability to organize, consolidate, and present data clearly.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take ownership of assigned tasks.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to Power BI, Power Query, or other reporting and data visualization tools.
• Interest in demand planning, supply chain, or data analytics.
• Experience improving or automating manual Excel-based processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the Demand Planning team with standard reporting and recurring data extracts.
• Assist with data consolidation from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Help build and maintain Excel-based templates to improve efficiency and standardization of reports.
• Perform data validation, clean-up, and reconciliation to support planning accuracy.
• Provide general analytical and administrative support to the Demand Planning team as required.
• Adhere to Sandvik’s Environmental, Health & Safety policies.
• Attend related training sessions and wear all mandatory PPE as required when visiting Sandvik facilities.
