About The Position

Job Descriptions vary by community partner site or the Center for Community Engagement, and the strengths and interests of individual students. Position descriptions will be developed in collaboration with their Site Supervisors or the Center for Community Engagement Staff. The candidate will perform most or all job duties at the Center for Community Engagement. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 25 hours.

Requirements

  • Current enrolled student in good academic standing
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in community service, civic engagement, or nonprofit work
  • Experience with event planning or student leadership roles
  • Prior participation in Bonner, AmeriCorps, or similar service-based leadership programs

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and organizing orientation programs for the Bonner Leader Program and AmeriCorps VISTA members
  • Help coordinate schedules, materials, and logistics for trainings, workshops, and onboarding sessions
  • Prepare orientation packets, presentations, and communication materials
  • Provide on-site support during orientation and training events
  • Support staff in maintaining communication with community partners
  • Assist with outreach to nonprofit and community organizations
  • Help coordinate service opportunities, meetings, and partnership activities
  • Maintain updated records of community partnerships and contacts
  • Assist with data entry, tracking student participation, and maintaining program records
  • Support event planning, including room reservations, catering requests, and setup
  • Manage calendars, send reminders, and assist with general office coordination
  • Help prepare reports, summaries, and program materials
  • Serve as a peer resource for students involved in community engagement programs
  • Assist with promoting events and opportunities through email and social media
  • Help track service hours and engagement activities
