About The Position

Knowledge Services is currently looking for a Sports Summer Camp Counselor for the everyday operational tasks of the Summer Adventure Day Camp Program under the supervision of the Head Day Camp Counselor and the direction of the Park Manager/Sr. Coordinator. This is a seasonal position expected to run from May 18, 2026 - July 24, 2026.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in school or have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Should be at least 18 years of age and have at least 1 year experience working with youth in a supportive environment.
Must have current certification in CPR and First Aid prior to summer employment.
Must have good communication and organizational skills.
Must be able to work daytime hours ranging from 7:30am to 6:00pm.
All applicants will be required to complete a background screening, motor vehicle record screening, drug screening, and have a valid drivers license.

Nice To Haves

Prefer any bilingual skills particularly in speaking Spanish.

Responsibilities

Follows all Indy Parks and Recreation Seasonal Policies and Procedures.
Monitors and supervises of campers and volunteers.
Coordinates daily camp and parent communication.
Implements daily activities and schedules.
Supports campers in the camp or activities setting.
Supports and assists campers while in activities such as, games, arts & crafts.
Independent judgement may occur in decisions regarding day camp programs, activities, handling discipline problems, emergency situations and dealing with the public.
