About The Position

The High School World Language Teacher is responsible for providing instruction in alignment with district curriculum, state standards, and world language best practices. Delivering engaging lessons that build students’ proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, while promoting cultural awareness. Summer School positions are dependent on Student enrollment.

Requirements

  • Ability to deliver standards-based world language instruction aligned with district and state expectations.
  • 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with a communicative approach to language learning and working knowledge of ACTFL.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and execution of thematic units of study aligned to grade level content and ACTFL Standards and Performance Guidelines.
  • Collaboration with classroom teachers to provide content connected support.
  • Attendance at monthly department and faculty meetings.
  • Participation in school-wide and department events.
  • Differentiates lessons, units, assessments, etc. based on the needs of each student.
  • Uses a variety of current technology tools to enhance instruction
  • Other related duties as assigned.
