About The Position

Oversee summer school operations by training and supporting staff in Fuel Education courses, monitoring student progress, managing course records, and providing technical assistance. Maintain classroom discipline, communicate with parents and school staff, and support students directly as needed.

Requirements

  • Completion of a higher education Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in education/teaching or Administrator License.
  • A valid teaching license or administrator license issued by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission with proper endorsements for grades K-12.
  • Ability to read English and comprehend complex technical language.
  • Ability to write memoranda, correspondence, lessons plans, reports, and student achievement summaries in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed, but basic, written or oral instructions in English.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and establish and effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisor(s), staff, students, parents and community.

Responsibilities

  • Train, manage and support summer school staff in Fuel Education courses.
  • Assess student progress.
  • Supervise educational assistants and teachers.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and communicate with parents when needed.
  • Provide rosters for attendance and a course list to summer school staff as they work with students.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff and families as issues arise.
  • Communicate with counselors and registrar as courses are completed and ready for transcription.
  • Fill in for direct staff to work with students, as needed.
  • Supervise middle school summer school staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
