About The Position

The Summer Ranger Supervisor maintains an efficient, well organized, and enjoyable environment for guests and employees while consistently greeting and engaging our guests. The Supervisor oversees all aspects of day-to-day operations of the bike park, in coordination with department heads and supervisors, assessed on a daily basis. This position reports to the Director of Patrol Applications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of Outdoor Emergency Care or EMT with current American Heart Association CPR certification
  • Minimum of 5 year as a Ranger/Patroller
  • Meets requirements of an Advanced Ranger/Patroller
  • Expert skier in all terrain in all weather conditions
  • Complete knowledge of the Skiers Safety Act regarding marking of ski area boundaries and trail closures
  • Proficient knowledge of industry trends and best practices
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work in collaboration with others to achieve team goals
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures and exercises caution when working
  • Ability to develop strong working relationship with those contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to notice and address small discrepancies in work or customer feedback
  • Ability to engage with customers in a positive and helpful manner
  • Ability to lead, manage and mentor a team.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, completing work at a high standard
  • Able to work in adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day to day operations of mountain in coordination with department heads, assessed on a daily basis with emphasis on teamwork, coordination with other departments, proper documentation, and guest relations skills
  • Responsible for Summer Ranger staff: monitor performance, provide timely feedback, assist with various tasks including hiring, scheduling, timekeeping, discipline and documentation and employee reviews
  • Run a Ranger station including daily maintenance and opening of terrain
  • Seek opportunities to enhance guest experiences, and initiates guest contact
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of lift operations and lift evacuation procedures; participate in lift evacuations under the guidance of Lift Evacuation Tech or Coordinator
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the mountain, including trails, communication systems; high and low traffic areas, potential hazards, etc.
  • Understand potential medical/legal consequences and the vulnerability of the company to possible litigation arising from the nature of the industry
  • Assist in training new and experienced patrollers, and collaborate with supervisors and training technicians to maintain accurate training logs and records.
  • Has working knowledge of ICS systems and can implement system as necessary
  • Communicate information from Patrol Director to Patrol Staff including, but not limited to, trail maintenance updates
  • Perform other duties as assigned
