About The Position

Sacred Heart Catholic School is seeking seasonal, part-time summer program child care workers for our 2026 Camp Seaside Program! This role involves supervising children, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment, and participating in various program activities. The position requires effective communication with children, parents, and colleagues, as well as adherence to school policies and the philosophy of Catholic education.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
At least 18 years old
Use excellent communication skills.
Be a team player.
Have reliable transportation.
Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening.
Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening.

Nice To Haves

One (1) year of experience in a childcare setting
CPR and First Aid certification

Responsibilities

Supervise children at all times, maintaining a secure, safe environment for children to play and learn in.
Supervise and train assistants in your room on policies, procedures, and regulations.
Provide positive feedback to students.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other professionals.
Participate in dismissal procedures ensuring that each child leaves with the appropriate adult (i.e., an authorized adult).
Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Support and adhere to the policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese of San Antonio, including the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees.
Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters.
Demonstrate professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits.
Maintain a stimulating and varied schedule of activities appropriate for the students in a well-ordered environment.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Coordinator.
Ensure that during the hours of operation there is at least one staff member trained in CPR/First Aid.
Maintain current and accurate records according to school policy.
Collaborate with peers to enhance the work environment and support instruction.
Follow directions and handle multiple tasks.
Possess proficient technology skills.
