Responsibilities

  • Can operate any machine or perform any job in the department efficiently and accurately.
  • Has good understanding of the product and how it goes together.
  • Can check his/her own and others' work from prints if required.
  • Removes dies and makes set-ups.
  • Responsible for quality of operation and dimensional accuracy of his/her own work.
  • Must have the physical ability to handle parts, materials, tools and carts as required.
  • Requires general supervision.
  • Safely and efficiently operating a variety of machinery and equipment used in the production or manufacturing process.
  • Setting up machines, monitoring operations, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring that products meet quality standards.
  • Following standard operating procedures and adhering to safety guidelines to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Hanging parts from pallets onto the paint line by grasping parts with one or two hands and hanging onto hooks.
  • Placing hooks on the line.
  • Rotating between Hanger and Hook Setter roles every hour.
  • Lifting and setting pallets (4x2 and 2x2).
  • Tending the paint-line where products advance down a motorized hanging conveyor system.
  • Taking cardboard boxes from a pallet and placing them onto the conveyor line.
  • Taking parts off of the paint line (hooks) to pack them into boxes or pallets that are to be shipped.
  • Taping loaded boxes and placing them onto pallets.
  • Bulk packing some products onto pallets and wrapping them.
  • Operating the tape machine.
  • Placing tape from a taper machine on boxes as they move down into the conveyor.
  • Handling and stacking boxed and taped product as they move down the conveyor onto a pallet.
  • Researching, calculating and pulling from inventory all boxes, packaging materials and pallets (4x2 and 7ft) needed to ship products.
  • Using work orders to assist in determining type and quantity of boxes needed on various lines.
  • Manually handling and transporting boxes, packaging materials, and pallets by cart or by hand to respective area.
  • Reviewing and replenishing boxes as needed.
  • Assisting receiving department.
  • Driving the forklift as needed to place product in the paint department.
  • Performing the "Take Off" job function.
  • Ensuring accurate labeling and staging of palletized products.
  • Labeling and placing barcodes on boxes of palletized product as they come from the “Take Off” area.
  • Pushing/pulling palletized orders into the automated plastic wrap area.
  • Using a computer and printer to make labels that are placed on the respective loads of products.
  • Performing the "Take Off" job.
