About The Position

The Shaw JCC is a community center located in Akron. Our facility offers a family-friendly environment in areas of aquatics, childcare, fitness, and membership. We are looking for seasonal staff to work as Summer Pool Gate Attendants with flexibility to work daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays. This position is available from May 15th - September 9th. This position requires someone to be welcoming, professional and courteous so everyone experiences exceptional customer service.

Requirements

• Must be 17 years of age or older
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with families and children
• Confident and consistent in enforcing rules and regulations

Responsibilities

• Greet members, families and program participants in a friendly and professional manner.
• Verify memberships, program registrations and guest passes for pool access.
• Manage high-volume check-ins during peak times.
• Direct participants to appropriate pool areas.
• Enforce pool rules and community policies to ensure a safe and positive experience.
• Maintain accurate attendance and guest logs.
• Communicate with lifeguards, aquatic staff and front desk attendant regarding issues or schedule changes.
• Assist with crowd control during busy periods and transitions between programs.
• Keep the gate entrance clean and organized.
