About The Position

The Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (RAPP) is a program of The Center Against Domestic Violence, a non-profit organization. This is a 6-week summer program where teens come together from various NYC high schools and are paid to learn how to become Peer Leaders. Peer Leaders are trained in the topics of teen dating violence, sexual harassment, gender roles, communication styles, and healthy relationships. Peer Leaders are expected to be eager to learn during the program and be ready to teach others about these important topics by the end of the summer program. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about these issues and develop your skills as a leader! Your job is to learn, become a leader, and have some fun. There will be presentations by the RAPP Coordinators and guest presenters, workshops, small and large group activities, field trips, films, and group discussions. The format will vary throughout the program, but we focus on educating Peer Leaders, team building, and leadership skills.
