About The Position

This role involves carrying out production needs by following Standard Operational Procedures for die casting, quality inspections, and maintaining the performance of the die cast machine. The associate will be responsible for achieving daily production targets and ensuring part quality meets customer requirements. Summertime schedules are available from July to September, with options for 4 hours x 5 days per week or 8 hours x 3 days per week.

  • Ability to lift at least 35 pounds repetitively.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and repeat repetitive motion.
  • Demonstrate all essential Duties & Responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve daily production targets and ensure part quality meets customer requirements.
  • Start up and shut down die casting machines.
  • Trim parts using a wire wheel, hand file, or other hand tools.
  • Maintain the performance of the die cast machine by connecting water hose to cooling system, preheating dies using a torch or electric heater, cleaning inside of die and pit area, replacing ladles, cleaning, and maintaining 5s.
  • Perform inspection of cast parts: Visual and with quality gauges.
  • Move baskets with a powered pallet jack.
  • Independently perform Q-time Checks to standards.
  • Understand part flow within process and identify abnormal process conditions.
  • Complete AGSS process loading, tag printing, and input NG scrap parts into AGSS system.
  • Complete AGSS Tag Canceling, Load Returns, Corrective Printing, and Reprinting when actions are necessary.
  • Fill out Daily Production Reports and Counter Confirmation sheets, ensuring downtime issues are recorded with description and correct downtime code, and recording reject quantity and description.
  • Transfer Daily Production Report information to the Production Board.
  • Complete segregation and follow Standard Segregation Procedure when abnormal conditions create non-conforming products.
  • Perform safety device systems, perform equipment safety checks, and follow lock out procedures.
  • Follow Stop, Call, Wait procedure.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and keep a clean work area.
  • Practice basic 3s activities.
