About The Position

Earthjustice's Northeast Regional Program staff work to address health and environmental threats from climate change, toxic chemicals, and pollution. They focus on ensuring New York state and local authorities implement environmental laws like the 2022 Environmental Rights Amendment and the 2019 Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. The program also works to protect water bodies from pollutants such as PFAS and cyanotoxins through advocacy and litigation. The Northeast Office often uses an environmental justice lens, partnering with frontline communities to address disproportionate pollution burdens. Founded in 1971, Earthjustice uses the power of law and partnerships to protect health, preserve natural places, advance clean energy, and combat climate change.
