About The Position
All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility. The Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas is now accepting applications for the 2026 Summer Employment Program! The Summer Employment Program begins Thursday, May 9, 2026 (tentative) and lasts approximately 7 to 17 weeks. Job Description: Mowing and maintenance of parks, vacant lots, various UG owned property, street medians, and right-of-way. Performance of various other maintenance duties as directed. Work hours are Monday – Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
- Must be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire
- All employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen
- Submit proof of identity and employment eligibility
Responsibilities
- Mowing and maintenance of parks
- Mowing and maintenance of vacant lots
- Mowing and maintenance of various UG owned property
- Mowing and maintenance of street medians and right-of-way
- Performance of various other maintenance duties as directed
