About The Position

Parks and Recreation Seasonal Laborer City of Covington, Kentucky Department: Parks & Recreation Location: City Hall Hours: Part-Time, Approx. 20-30 hours per week. Role Overview The Parks and Recreation Seasonal Laborer supports the Parks & Recreation Department by assisting in the planning, setup, staffing, and takedown of legacy events, seasonal series, and one-time community programs. This position is rooted in public interaction and community engagement, working with children, families, seniors, and diverse populations to provide welcoming and joyful experiences. The typical weekly schedule includes 2–3 office days and 1 evening or weekend shift, depending on event needs.

  • Comfortable working with children, families, and seniors in a public setting

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Recreation Program Coordinator with planning and executing community events
  • Provide on-site event support, including setup and tear-down of materials and equipment
  • Interact with the public and create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all participants
  • Help coordinate volunteer-led service days and projects in parks
  • Promote and support ongoing recreational programming
  • Represent the department at public events and community meetings
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
