Summer Job for Teachers – Baseball & Softball Camp Educator ($25/hr) | San Francisco
About The Position
San Francisco Giants Baseball & Softball Camps is hiring educators and teachers with summers off to lead campers ages 4–13 at our San Francisco camps located at West Sunset and Balboa Park. This role is perfect for teachers who enjoy working with elementary-aged students and feel comfortable teaching the fundamentals of baseball or softball in a fun and structured outdoor camp environment. Our camps combine skill development, mentorship, and fun, helping young athletes improve their baseball/softball abilities while learning important life lessons. We provide equipment, training, and curriculum — you provide the teaching leadership and enthusiasm.
Requirements
- Have experience working with children ages 4–13
- Understand basic baseball or softball fundamentals
- Enjoy teaching and mentoring young students
- Are energetic, positive, and engaging
- Communicate well with both children and staff
- Demonstrate reliability and professionalism
- Bring enthusiasm and a strong team-first attitude
- Have at least one full school year of paid teaching experience, OR Provide proof of teaching certification
- Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to their assigned camp site.
- All hires must pass a background screening.
Nice To Haves
- Teachers who have coached or played baseball/softball
- Candidates should feel comfortable demonstrating basic baseball or softball mechanics and leading youth through skill development activities.
Responsibilities
- Teaching fundamental baseball and softball skills (hitting, throwing, fielding, teamwork)
- Leading campers through organized drills and games
- Creating a supportive and engaging learning environment
- Reinforcing positive behavior, accountability, and sportsmanship
- Supervising campers and ensuring a safe camp experience
- Working closely with Site Directors and fellow camp educators
- Maintain a safe and organized camp environment
- Guide campers through daily Giants Camps curriculum
- Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth
- Provide feedback during drills and gameplay
- Recognize teachable moments to help campers learn and improve
- Collaborate with fellow staff to deliver a high-quality camp experience
