Summer Job Coach-Bartlett School & Assessment Center
About The Position
This is a summer position at the Bartlett School & Assessment Center, contingent on funding and student enrollment. The role involves supporting the vocational learning of special education students, including assisting with workplace placements in the community, monitoring work sites, collaborating with businesses on work-related issues, and supporting students with portfolio development and prerequisite vocational skills. The job coach will also provide transportation training and maintain records related to student performance and employment. Work Dates/Hours: June 29th to August 6th, Monday - Thursday, 7:45 am - 2:15 pm. Weekly planning meetings, as well as pre and post-work, are also required. Schedule is subject to change based on student enrollment.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience with high school special education students and/or vocational programs.
- Demonstrated experience working with business community partnerships.
- Demonstrated experience working in the food service industry.
- Bachelor Degree preferred.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Assist and supervise the placement of special education students in the work place in the community.
- Monitor work sites for appropriate students.
- Work collaboratively with businesses to provide assistance regarding work-related issues.
- Assist and support students with portfolio development.
- Work with students on prerequisite skills for vocational training.
- Provide transportation training using community resources.
- Maintain records regarding performance evaluations, work schedules, salaries, and employer information.
- Present student performance/assessments in progress meetings.
