As a Seismic Imaging Technology intern at bp, you will collaborate with leading scientists on cutting-edge geophysical research and development. Your work will span advanced seismic acquisition techniques, imaging, data processing, and reservoir characterization. You’ll apply your expertise in digital signal processing, wave propagation, numerical simulation, inverse theory, and digital science to address complex subsurface challenges across exploration, development, and production. Interns are expected to be proficient in modern programming languages and computing platforms and will implement and execute algorithms within bp’s High Performance Computing Center. Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Successful interns may be considered for a full-time role within our One Subsurface programme upon earning their degree. One Subsurface is our early careers programme designed to create a pipeline of subsurface professionals. Early careers will follow a structured development offer to accelerate the acquisition of foundational technical skills, experience and knowledge, and application in the business world. The programme supports transition from university to discipline professional and provides a framework of ‘non-technical’ skills to support building personal effectiveness skills.
