Five Below Summer Internship Program - 2026 Five Below Summer Internship Program is ON! Our limited open positions for Summer 2026 focus on company strategic initiatives in the exciting environment of value-driven, fun-focused retail. We are seeking energetic, responsible go-getters with innovative ideas, ready to actively participate in company initiatives. We LOVE our interns! Our internship is curated to deliver a rich learning experience for both personal and professional growth. Our program is hands-on, engaging in meaningful work that directly contributes to the company’s missions and ultimate success. You are an active contributor and valued as a part of your team! Location Our alumni agree – we’ve got the magic balance of flexibility and immersion when our interns align with our HQ hybrid model. All applicants should plan to be in the Philadelphia area and have transportation/access to HQ (aka WowTown) throughout the entirety of the program. Internship Details 10 weeks: June 1st- August 7th Full time – 40 hours/wk Paid – $19.50/hr Hybrid model - Reporting into WowTown Tues-Thurs Hands on, results driven projects. No coffee fetching here! Strategic Project focused, coupled with day-to-day responsibilities and development programming Highlights Interactive experiences with Senior Leadership Team Professional Development Sessions Lunch & Learns Insight and participation into companywide initiatives High exposure/small group 100% intern satisfaction rate High intern conversion rate! Project Details Our Summer 2026 Merchandising Intern will lead a white space analysis to identify new product opportunities Five Below should introduce across Bag Charms, Craft, Art Supplies, and Regional/Collegiate Shops. Leveraging direct interaction with our core demographic, this role will uncover meaningful, trend-right opportunities that resonate with college-aged customers seeking value-driven, on-trend products in campus markets. The intern will research social media platforms, competitive retail environments, and peer insights to discover emerging trends—particularly within fashion bag charms and arts & crafts—while considering broader applications across the total buying organization. Working collaboratively within a “Think Tank” environment alongside fellow Summer 2026 interns, this individual will gather insights on desired products, art styles, messaging, and price expectations. Responsibilities include conducting a deep-dive merchandise review (including school stores, Etsy, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and other relevant channels), referencing current assortments for guidance, and curating a compelling assortment grounded in both research and personal consumer perspective. Midpoint findings will be presented to the buying team to refine priority opportunities, followed by cross-functional collaboration to build a comprehensive proposal deck. The program will culminate in a final presentation to the Merchandising team, with the ultimate goal of identifying the next big trend and actionable white space opportunities within the collegiate market.

Requirements

Must be actively enrolled as rising Junior, Senior, Grad Student or recent Grad with a relevant background. Those studying under an associate’s certificate or similar program may be considered if coursework and skills fit the individual project requirements.
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office products & remote meeting software
Must be available for the full 10-week program as space is limited
Must be a self-starter, highly passionate & detail oriented
Active ability to problem solve & communicate effectively

Degree area or experience in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or similar
