About The Position

Under the leadership of the Senior Manager, the client utilities Intern will act as a bridge between technical utility operations and customer-facing service teams, focusing on enhancing customer satisfaction, supporting project delivery, and improving service processes. This role involves learning about and operating new software technologies, assisting with financial data analysis for efficiency improvements, researching competitive facilities, and communicating the status of new technologies to internal managers. The intern will also gain exposure to various department managers to understand industry best practices and develop leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior at a four-year college or university
  • Strong technological and reasoning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information
  • Ability to work under limited supervision
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management
  • Must be highly motivated
  • Must have a professional attitude and appearance

Responsibilities

  • Attend pre-planning meetings, site visits, pre and post conference meetings, and conference calls.
  • Work with the convention and visitor Bureau and internal leaders on event estimation for future business.
  • Attend weekly production meetings to learn about internal operations.
  • Learn about and operate new software technologies.
  • Assist the Finance manager in building spreadsheets and other data for review to improve efficiency.
  • Review and research other facilities to stay competitive and build Comp-Sets to present to senior management.
  • Effectively communicate the status of new technologies the department is working with (e.g., Mobile work orders) to internal managers.
  • Daily review and assistance with the workforce using new technology.
  • Train other team members on Lighting systems and new web-based technologies.
  • Hold internal meetings with the manager of the Utilities Department to report progress and develop leadership skills.
  • Help prepare work orders with floor plans, as necessary, and distribute them to the workforce.
  • Spend time with other department managers to get an overall idea of the industry’s best practices.
  • Other responsibilities assigned by the Utilities Department manager.
