California Appellate Project (CAP) is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of criminal defense attorneys. CAP seeks a select group of students for the summer of 2027. Interns will work under the guidance of experienced post-conviction attorneys, providing essential support in areas such as document collection, record gathering, investigative analysis, legal research, writing, and technical assistance to attorneys representing indigent individuals sentenced to death in California. The internship is a full-time, 10-week program that includes intensive legal training and assignments focused on California death penalty cases. Remote internships may also be available.
