The Project Engineering Intern assists and supports Project Managers and Superintendents on assigned projects, working under direct supervision with mentorship. Interns perform routine daily activities, gather and distribute information, and may gain experience in coordinating project activities, performing accounting activities, performing estimating functions, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic phases of construction projects.
  • Knowledge of mathematics functions (geometry, basic algebra).
  • Computer skills (MS Office, HCSS, CGC, etc).
  • Ability to perform all work in a timely, professional, and efficient manner while effectively communicating and interacting with customers, clients, subcontractors, and other third parties.
  • Ability to present information in a clear and understandable manner in both written and verbal form.
  • Working towards a bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field or equivalent through experience.
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Skanska employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
  • Skanska does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g. H-1B status).

Responsibilities

  • Assists and supports Project Manager and Superintendent on assigned projects.
  • Performs routine daily activities.
  • Gathers and distributes information.
  • May gain experience with coordinating project activities with direct supervision from the Project and/or Operations Manager.
  • May gain experience performing accounting activities with assistance.
  • May gain experience performing estimating functions as requested with assistance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
