Focused on student achievement and strong character, the Kauffman School’s mission is to support students in maximizing their opportunities for post-secondary success. Students are accepted by a lottery that prioritizes the six highest-need zip codes within the district. More than 70% of our students identify as first in their families to attend college. From serving as certified doulas to attending graduate school to starting their own local small businesses, our alumni are shaping their post-secondary paths and we are incredibly proud of their determination and drive. The Kauffman School seeks driven and culturally responsive individuals to join its team – we anchor ourselves around our governing mindsets to create a school with strong staff culture to be able to support students. Belief and Connection: We build connections with each other and hold each other accountable Empowered Ownership: We identify and creatively solve problems that arise Learning Culture: All of us are learning and developing all the time Stronger Together: We can accomplish more together than apart Growth & Feedback: We are committed to giving each other feedback to support our teams’ growth Reporting to members of the Kauffman School’s operations team, the summer intern will work with a team of other interns who are responsible for undertaking the critical work of preparing the Kauffman school building, materials and systems for the 2026-2027 school year.
